Photogrammetry, cloud sharing, remote cloud collaboration, laser scanners, 3D printers, capacitive styluses, augmented and virtual reality design tools with immersive presentations, visual programming, building information modelling, parametric design... these all might sound arduous to learn or implement, but they are all fairly new tools and systems that are available, affordable and should soon be adapted by most architectural firms in South Africa. All carry the benefits of saving space and energy, and increasing accuracy and quality of work while contributing and promoting paperless offices and projects.
