In a water-stressed country like South Africa, groundwater is becoming an increasingly important water source in order to meet domestic needs. But, it needs to be used wisely, says Dr Eelco Lukas, a geohydrologist, director of the Institute for Groundwater Studies at the University of the Free State (UFS).
