Situated west of Lephalale in Limpopo, Exxaro's Grootgeluk open-pit mine employs 3,200 people and produces 26Mtpa final coal products, using a conventional truck and shovel operation. It also has a beneficiation complex where 8,000 tonnes per hour of run-of-mine coal is upgraded in 10 different plants.
